Hello everyone!

We would like to thank those who came out to our last meeting of the Fall quarter, where we had Heather Rice from the Susan Samueli Center for Integrative Medicine demonstrate various techniques used in her practice of acupuncture and Chinese medicine.  She also gave us a close look at all the difference equipment used in acupuncture, as well as a hands-on experience and demonstration of using needles as well as cups, among other things.  Lastly, we closed off by holding a board meeting, and invited any interested general members to join us and help us plan for next quarter's events, including the much-anticipated IM week!

Thanks again to everyone who came out, participated, and got involved with our board.  We hope to see you all next quarter.  Good luck on finals, and have an amazing holiday break!

  • Dr. Cahn's explanation of medication as it is applied not only in spiritual practices, but also in health practices to relax the mind.
  • Q&A from our members about other applications of meditation as well as the importance of practicing it everyday
  • Wrap up with a quick 3 min practice of meditation
  • Upcoming events/opportunities to look forward to with SIM: mentorship program with high school students from Anaheim High School; hospice training this Saturday, Nov 2nd from 8am-12pm; meeting #3 featuring an acupuncturist.
